This amusing animatronic is also very instructive since it requires symmetric relative moves of its servos to stay upright. When properly choreographed (the manual pages, link at above left, tell you how) the strider turns right and left as it strides in place (1)-(3), doing slow dips or fast gallops.
The robot can also pitch itself onto its face (4)-(5) and then, again using symmetric servo moves, stand on its head and kick its feet (6)-(7). The doll eyes used in the strider are available at craft stores. All other parts are included in the set. |
